The University of Washington School of Public Health’s inaugural “Close Up” profile interviewed I-TECH Executive Director Ann Downer, who is a faculty member in the school. (The UW’s Department of Global Health, where I-TECH is a center, is a joint department between the UW Schools of Medicine and Public Health.)
In the interview Ann emphasizes the emergence of e-learning as a potent force that is changing the face of teaching and learning. “I think there’s no going back,” she says. “In the educational literature, self-paced learning is clearly more effective, especially for adults. It’s more flexible and appeals to more diverse learning styles.”
